library

This is the Birthday Cake for Vicki’s birthday which was sometime in the very early 2020’s.
It looked so good we couldn’t bring ourselves to cut it up and eat it!

The library, oh, it is the heart and soul of our humble abode! A sanctuary that pulses with the energy of knowledge and creativity. Step inside and behold a world of wonder – a harmonious blend of order and enchanting adornments.

Within its walls, you shall find the very essence of what a library should be! As you explore its expanse, your senses will be stirred by the soft glow of lights, the presence of exquisite figures and statues, and a delightful mélange of whimsical things that ignite the fires of imagination.

This sacred space, spanning two rooms, is a ceaseless source of joy. It is a place where silence and the harmonious murmurs of reading minds intertwine, creating a symphony of thoughtful contemplation and enthusiastic discourse.

Embrace the passion that emanates from every shelf, every corner, and let the library transport you to a realm of breathtaking possibilities. Come, succumb to the allure of knowledge, and embark on a lifelong journey of discovery within the boundless realm of our beloved library!

Over the years …….

In October 2024 we had a major reshuffle of the library; not quite getting to the Dewey System, but simplifying the arrangement to reflect the three major sectors: History, Fiction and Fantasy. There are a few other minor sectors, but we can now just about find any book within a few minutes and without consulting the dBase.

Hopefully this will be the last time we have to go through this process, but hey, who knows what the future holds in store for us!

That also means that this baker’s dozen photos should be the last that we will have to post on this blog, leaving Roger free to manufacture more family tales of ancestors, young and old.
