One of the joys of the internet is that old fogies, all manner of darby & joans, can plonk pictures, thoughts and stories “up there” for anyone who may be interested to view, enjoy and share. Primarily this is a blog, a website of a small portion of our joint family’s history.
This setting provides us with the best methodology to chronicle some tales of our ancestors.
The family tree now has more than 14,000 entries and only a few will actually make it to “story status”. The tree is however, public on Ancestry.com.au and called milesofirvings – feel free to browse it at any time and let us know if you have questions, additions, edits or maybe some GEDmatch numbers you’d like to share!
We have also started to position many of the direct ancestors onto a magnificent online site called Wikitree.com which will allow everyone to chase our history, see where it connects to all sorts of distant relatives; and to correctly determine names, places and dates.
Here is the link to Vicki’s 2nd Great Grandfather, Charles Miles, who migrated to Victoria with his wife, Mary Weston and their children in 1854. You’ll be able to navigate your way around the family twigs and branches from that point to both descendants and ancestors.
